Labour Leaflet

A very sad side to the Election was seen this week with a leaflet being distributed by Labour supporters with a section regarding myself which is totally untrue.

I have sought legal advice and believe that they have committed an offence under Section 106 of the representation of the people act 1983. A letter stating this was handed to the Labour Candidate today at 11:50am stating that the article was untrue and asked that they immediately cease their distribution of this leaflet. They were still delivering this leaflet today at 3pm.

I have great difficulty with this Labour candidate now and how he will work as an Assembly Member for the people of Aberconwy when he distributes such misleading information. I have also been advised to report this to the police.

The attack on you is outrageous and beyond what is normally acceptable. The leaflet also contains a false statement with regard to the Plaid candidate. It must be some sort of record issueing false statements about two c andidates. Labopur have learnt nothing from Oldham and saddleworth fiasco.

  2. Thanks Mark.

I am deeply disappointed with Labour and they were still delivering this rubbish last night. I have spoken to people locally who are disgusted with him. One in Junction has ripped her Labour window poster up and will be out to challenge him on the streets tomorrow and is now voting for me.

The Labour candidate has brought this democratic election into disrepute, I can not tell you how disgusted I am that a man standing for election to the Welsh Assembly can issue such lies.
I feel like standing outside the polling station telling everyone entering not to vote for such a downright liar who is not fit to represent us in the Welsh Assembly.
I hope both you and the Plaid candidate will get the police to look into this matter of the Labour blatant lying in the hope of gaining extra seat.

  6. After a stream of bile laden attacks on Sarah Teather over the years, in Brent Central Lab-Liar finally went over the top last year and distributed something that was straightforwardly libellous. Fortunately, there was sufficient time to extract a grovelling apology and publicise this from one end of the constituency to the other. Regrettably, to my point of view, the decision was made not to refer the matter to the police as a potentially criminal matter under the RPAs with the result that Lab-Liar locally have learnt little. You simply MUST refer the matter to the police and encourage as many local residents to do likewise - so that the police cannot dismiss it.
