Below is a breakdown of the Environment departments costs for this years event. This year was another great success and I was particularly pleased to see our tourism brochures being distributed to the 10's of Thousands of visitors.
I hope this is enough information for Anon and I also hope that residents see the promotional work for tourism that has been taken advantage of. I cannot guarantee our attendance at this event into the future, which I believe will be a missed opportunity but perhaps we could look for more sponsorship.

You raise the issue of sponsorship - why is more use not made of this? I'm not just talking about businesses here, private individuals (maybe as a tribute to a loved one) could also particpate.
ReplyDeleteHow about a section on the CCBC website, that list various areas in the County where work is required - could be the cost of planting out a flowerbed, planting of a tree, installing a new Shelter or even a general contribution towards a specific park.
Each item has a cost attached to do the work, and businesses/individuals can then contribute the cost of that work in return for being acknowledged as the benefactor, both on the CCBC website and via a small plaque at the site.
I honestly think its a great idea, so why don't we do it? This could be a fantastic source of income to offset the coming cuts.

Hi Dave,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment, I agree that sponsorship is another resource that is on the whole not taken advantage of. I can confirm that the Environment dept does issue a sponsorship pack to business's and Town and Community Councils, for example you can sponsor bins and street furniture. I will check out having it placed on the Website and also re-launch the pack.
Thanks for the idea.
The sums dont add up, they must of been quick growing plants? Interesting though.
ReplyDeleteYour doing a good job letting us all know thanks Mike.
